The Ponytail Palm, or Beaucarnea recurvata, is a popular ornamental plant native to eastern Mexico. This slow growing plant is not a true palm, despite its common name! Known for its thick, almost swollen trunk that stores water, the Ponytail Palm is an evergreen perennial with succulent characteristics. It is drought tolerant, and does best in full sun to partial shade. Added bonus, this plant is considered non toxic – making it safe to keep around your furry friends!
