About The Large Boston Fern Hanging Basket
The iconic Boston Fern is perfect for an outdoor porch during the warmer months or grown year-round indoors. This Fern is tolerant of low light and appreciative of high humidity. It is also considered pet-friendly or non-toxic, making it safe to keep around curious four-legged friends.

Small
Approximately 5" in diameter, fits plants in a 4" grow pot or smaller
Medium
Approximately 7" in diameter, fits plants in a 6" grow pot or smaller
Large
Approximately 10-12" in diameter, fits plants in a 10" grow pot or smaller
Massive
Approximately 12-14" in diameter, fits plants in a 12" grow pot or smaller
Watering Requirements
Water every 1-2 weeks allowing half of the soil to dry out between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light conditions and less often in lower light.
Sunlight Requirements
Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Not suited for low light or direct sunlight unless coming from the morning hours..
Humidity Requirements
Boston Ferns prefer higher humidity if possible, preferably above 40%. Consider incorporating a humidifier to boost humidity levels more consistently if the air in the home is dry.

Why is my Boston Fern turning brown, crispy, and shedding leaves?
Browning and shedding is commonly caused by low humidity or underwatering in dry indoor climates. These tropical plants require a minimum humidity level between 40-60% to prevent their fronds from drying out and making a mess. You can easily fix this by running a humidifier nearby and adjusting your watering frequency.
How often should you water a Boston Fern?
Water your Boston Fern as soon as the top half of the soil has dried out, typically once or twice a week depending on conditions. Ensure your planter has drainage holes to allow excess water to escape, as sitting in stagnant water will quickly cause root rot.
