Potting Essentials
This planter is named after Susanna Bixby Bryant (April 11, 1880 – October 2, 1946), an American horticulturalist, botanical collector, and rancher — and an early and major champion of preserving native species. Bryant inherited her family’s 5,000+ acre Rancho Santa Ana, located in present-day Orange County, California, in the 1890s. Recognizing the need for protecting California’s native plants, Bryant established a 200-acre native garden on the property that became home to 45,000+ native plants and would eventually become the California Botanic Garden.
The Bryant Planter features a drainage hole and a matching saucer to catch excess water. The planter can be used with a grow pot, or pot your plant directly into the planter with potting mix.
