About The Rhoeo Discolor
The Rhoeo Discolor is a member of the Tradescantia genus prized for its green lance-shaped leaves with purple undersides. The Rhoeo is a versatile, easy to care for houseplant that is great for adding visual contrast to a rather green plant collection.

Watering Requirements
Water every 1-2 weeks allowing the soil to mostly dry out between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light conditions and less often in lower light.
Sunlight Requirements
Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Not suited for low light or direct afternoon sun.
Humidity Requirements
Normal room humidity can work, but Tradescantia can benefit from higher humidity conditions. Consider incorporating a humidifier to boost humidity levels more consistently if the air in the home is dry.

Why is my Tradescantia getting leggy, and how do I fix it?
A leggy Tradescantia growing long, thin stems or dropping leaves is primarily caused by insufficient sunlight.Move your plant into a location with bright, indirect sunlight to encourage tighter leaf nodes. To restore its full, bushy shape, you must prune the leggy vines back to where you want it to regrow by cutting right above a leaf node.
Why are the leaves on my Tradescantia crisping or turning brown?
Brown, crispy leaves on a Tradescantia are typically caused by low humidity, water hitting the foliage, or underwatering. While Tradescantias are resilient, they have delicate leaves that are prone to drying out along the edges if they are dehydrated or humidity is low.
Why is my colorful Tradescantia turning completely green?
If your variegated Tradescantia is losing its vibrant color and turning green, the plant is reacting to low light levels. To bring back its striking colors, gradually acclimate the plant to a brighter room or windowsill that receives plenty of bright indirect sunlight to even morning sun from an east-facing window.
