About The Pothos Albo
The Pothos Albo (Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Albo’) is a highly sought-after variety known for its unique variegation. Each leaf is one-of-a-kind, with patterns that range from bold, marbled streaks to delicate speckles. Left to trail, it cascades beautifully from shelves or hanging planters. Given climbing support, its leaves will grow larger and may even develop fenestrations as it matures!
NOTE: Variegation may naturally vary from plant to plant, with some showing more white or green than others. However, with bright light and consistent care, the variegation often becomes more pronounced in new growth over time!

Small
Approximately 5" in diameter, fits plants in a 4" grow pot or smaller
Medium
Approximately 7" in diameter, fits plants in a 6" grow pot or smaller

Approximately 10-12" in diameter, fits plants in a 10" grow pot or smaller
Massive
Approximately 12-14" in diameter, fits plants in a 12" grow pot or smaller
Watering Requirements
Water every 1-2 weeks allowing soil to dry out between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light conditions and less often in lower light.
Sunlight Requirements
Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. While it can adapt to lower light, growth may slow and new leaves could show less variegation.
Humidity Requirements
Normal room humidity will do, but Pothos will feel more at home under higher humidity conditions if possible, preferably between 40-60%. Consider incorporating a humidifier to boost humidity levels more consistently if the air in the home is dry.

Is Albo Pothos the same as standard Pothos?
Albo Pothos belongs to a completely different species than the common Pothos (Epipremnum aureum). The Albo variety is classified as Epipremnum pinnatum, which naturally features more elongated, lance-shaped foliage rather than traditional heart-shaped leaves.
Will an Albo Pothos develop leaf splits like a Monstera?
A mature Albo Pothos will naturally develop dramatic fenestrations and deep side slits if you train the vines to climb upward. Juvenile plants bought in stores always feature solid leaves, but providing a sturdy moss pole triggers the genetic shift toward large, split adult foliage.
Why is my Albo Pothos losing its white color?
Your plant is reverting to solid green because it is not receiving enough ambient light to sustain its mutation. The plant compensates for dark conditions by producing more chlorophyll, so you must move it closer to a window to encourage white variegation in new growth.
Why are the white parts of my Albo Pothos turning brown?
The white patches turn brown because those sections lack protective pigmentation and are highly sensitive to stress. This specific browning could indicate inconsistent watering, sudden drops in household humidity or temperature, or stress from tap water minerals or too much sunlight.
