Sunlight Requirements
Thrives in full sun, needing at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily to produce abundant fruit.
Humidity Requirements
Lemons love humidity just as much as they love the sun, thriving best when levels are around 50–60%, though they are resilient enough to handle levels as low as 40% without much fuss. The easiest way to keep your tree comfortable indoors is with a humidifier, which creates a consistent 'microclimate' of moist air that helps your plant thrive year-round.
Pet-Friendly Plant?
No, this plant is not recommended in homes with pets.
What is a Pink Variegated Eureka Lemon Tree?
The Pink Variegated Eureka Lemon Tree (Citrus × limon 'Eureka Variegated Pink') is a visually stunning mutant cultivar of the classic Eureka lemon. It is prized for its highly ornamental, variegated leaves, striped green and yellow immature fruits, and a light-pink interior flesh at peak maturity.
Do pink variegated lemons taste like pink lemonade?
Yes, they have a flavor profile that strongly resembles fresh, tart pink lemonade. While they are still true lemons with a classic tangy profile, they are slightly sweeter, less acidic, and more aromatic than standard grocery store Eureka lemons.
Can you grow a Pink Variegated Eureka Lemon Tree in a pot?
Yes, it is an excellent choice for containers and patio gardening. For growers in Zones 4-8, keeping the tree in a container allows you to easily move it indoors for the winter. It requires a well-draining potting mix and a location that receives 8 to 12 hours of direct sunlight daily or a LED grow light if growing indoors.
How often should I water a Pink Variegated Lemon Tree?
Water deeply only when the top 2-3 inches of soil to dry out between waterings.
Are Pink Variegated Eureka Lemon Trees self-pollinating?
Yes, this tree is completely self-fertile (self-pollinating). If grown indoors, you can boost your fruit yield by gently shaking the blooming branches or use a paintbrush.
Why are my pink lemons not pink inside?
The pink color develops strictly as the fruit matures. Immature lemons will have green and yellow stripes on the outside and standard pale flesh on the inside. As the fruit fully ripens, the exterior stripes fade to a solid, vibrant yellow, and the interior flesh turns its signature rosy pink.
