Peperomia caperata ‘Rosso’ is a species of Peperomia. The name caperata means wrinkled, and is a reference to its leaves. In this cultivar, the leaves have been bred to be elongated and hold a bright red color on the underside of the leaves. This peperomia is easily propagated via leaf-cuttings, and is able to regenerate after dying back to the stem. Peperomias are related to black peppercorns, and are in the family Piperaceae. Like other plants in the family, the flower stalk is cream colored, and the tiny flowers lack a perianth (petals or sepals).
