About The Peacock Fern Hanging Basket
The Peacock Fern, also known as rainbow moss is a charming species of moss that adds a eye-catching, whimsical ambiance to any indoor garden. It sports long, textured foliage adorned with iridescent shades of blue. This plant thrives in indirect sunlight, loves humidity (try them in your bathroom!), and it’s pet friendly.

Watering Requirements
Water every 1 week, allowing soil to dry out halfway down between waterings.
Sunlight Requirements
Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Not suited for intense, direct sun.
Humidity Requirements
Selaginella prefers higher humidity if possible, preferably above 40%. Consider incorporating a humidifier to boost humidity levels more consistently if the air in the home is dry.

How often should you water a Selaginella uncinata?
Water your Selaginella uncinata frequently to ensure the potting medium stays moist but not waterlogged, usually requiring water once or twice a week depending on conditions in the home. Check the moisture of the soil every few days at least, and water thoroughly once the top half of soil has dried out.
Why is my Peacock Fern losing its iridescent blue color?
A sudden loss of color is almost always triggered by exposure to too much bright, direct sunlight. You can easily fix this by shifting the plant away from direct sunlight and into a more shaded location, like an East or North facing window. Once moved to safety, the new growth will regain its color, however, former growth most likely will not.
