About The Lemon Lime Prayer Plant
The Lemon Lime Prayer Plant, scientifically known as Maranta leuconeura 'Lemon Lime' is a captivating houseplant cherished for its unique foliage. With its striking lemon-lime colored leaves adorned with intricate patterns, this plant brings a vibrant burst of color and texture to any space. Like other prayer plants in its family, it raises and lowers these leaves from day to night, a phenomenon called nyctinasty!

Watering Requirements
Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry out half way down between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light. This plant can benefit from extra humidity. Marantas can be sensitive to hard tap water. Try using filtered water or leaving water out overnight before using.
Sunlight Requirements
Thrives in medium to bright indirect light, but can tolerate low indirect light.
Humidity Requirements
Maranta prefer higher humidity if possible, preferably above 40%. Consider incorporating a humidifier to boost humidity levels more consistently if the air in the home is dry.

Why are the leaves on my Lemon Lime Prayer Plant curling inward?
Leaf curling is a defense mechanism indicating that your Maranta is experiencing underwatering, too much sunlight, or an unfavorable draft. Check the moisture of the soil, the windows exposure, or keep a lookout for any drafts from AC vents, heaters, or drafty windows!
How often should you water a Lemon Lime Prayer Plant?
Water your Maranta when the top half of soil has dried out, which typically averages to once a week depending on your home's environment. Allowing the plant to sit in stagnant water triggers root rot, while letting the soil completely dry out will cause the foliage to droop and brown.
Why are my Lemon Lime Prayer Plant leaves turning yellow?
Yellowing leaves on Maranta are most frequently caused by overwatering, poor drainage, or not enough sunlight. If the lower leaves are turning yellow and the stems feel soft or mushy at the base, the soil is holding too much water either due to watering too frequently, poor drainage in the soil, or the plant not receiving enough light.
Why is my Lemon Lime Prayer Plant losing its bright yellow-green color and turning pale?
Loss of color is usually caused by incorrect lighting, most often too much direct sunlight or sometimes not enough sunlight. In low-light environments, the plant produces more chlorophyll (green) to absorb what little light is available, while too much direct sunlight can bleach the leaves. Make sure to place your Maranta in a spot with bright indirect light.
