Under optimal conditions, it can grow a foot a year and can eventually reach up to 20 feet in height indoors, giving your space instant jungle vibes. Watering Requirements
Water every 1 week, allowing soil to dry out halfway down between waterings.
Sunlight Requirements
Thrives in bright direct sunlight. Not suited for low light conditions.
Humidity Requirements
Palms prefer higher humidity if possible, preferably above 40%. Consider incorporating a humidifier to boost humidity levels more consistently if the air in the home is dry.

Can a Windmill Palm survive freezing winter weather outdoors?
Yes, the Windmill Palm is one of the most cold-hardy true palms in the world. It can easily survive winter temperatures dropping down to 5-10F, making it highly popular for landscaping in temperate USDA Zones 7-11.
Why is my Windmill Palm growing so slowly?
While Windmill Palms are naturally slow-to-moderate growers, a severe growth halt is usually caused by root restriction or insufficient sunlight. They prefer full sun to partial shade; if planted in heavy shade or low light, their growth will slow drastically.
How often should I water an outdoor Windmill Palm?
Once established in the ground, Windmill Palms are decently drought-tolerant. However, during their first two growing seasons, water deeply 1 - times a week to help build a robust root system. Ensure the soil drains exceptionally well as they cannot tolerate "wet feet."
