About The Large Cat Palm
The Cat Palm is a popular tropical palm known for its long, arching fronds and compact low-growing growth habit. It is a slow-growing plant, but when well cared for can reach up to 6 feet in height, giving your space instant jungle vibes. Sized to ship best, our large Cat Palm arrives with room to grow as it adapts to your home’s conditions. Bonus: This palm is pet-friendly!

- Large plant measures between 3-4 feet tall from the bottom of the grow pot to the top of the foliage
- Large plants benefit from brighter light to help retain their mature foliage
- Large plants require less frequent waterings due to their higher volume of soil

Approximately 5" in diameter, fits plants in a 4" grow pot or smaller
Medium
Approximately 7" in diameter, fits plants in a 6" grow pot or smaller
Large
Approximately 10-12" in diameter, fits plants in a 10" grow pot or smaller
Massive
Approximately 12-14" in diameter, fits plants in a 12" grow pot or smaller
Watering Requirements
Water weekly, allowing soil to dry out half way down between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light.
Sunlight Requirements
Thrives in medium to bright indirect light and morning direct sun. Not suited for low light or direct afternoon sun.
Humidity Requirements
Palms prefer higher humidity if possible, preferably above 40%. Consider incorporating a humidifier to boost humidity levels more consistently if the air in the home is dry.

Yes, this plant is safe for homes with pets.
Why does my Cat Palm constantly get brown, dry leaves?
Cat Palms require more moisture than typical palms. If the soil dries out completely, the fronds will instantly turn brown and crispy. Keep the soil damp and never let the soil dry out 100%.
Can a Cat Palm grow in low light?
While it can survive in medium light, a Cat Palm will quickly become thin, leggy, and prone to pests if left in deep, dark corners. It thrives best in bright indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sun, which will bleach and scorch its fronds.
Why is my Cat Palm drooping?
Heavy drooping is typically a cry for water or a symptom of root rot from poor drainage. If the soil is bone-dry and lightweight, give it a deep soaking. If the soil is muddy and smells sour, repot with fresh soil, prune away any black, mushy roots, and treat the soil with a fungicide.
