About The Large Braided Hibiscus
The Braided Hibiscus plant is a unique and captivating addition to any garden or indoor space, featuring intricately woven trunks topped with vibrant blooms in shades of red, pink, yellow, and orange. This tropical plant thrives in full sunlight and well-drained soil, making it perfect for sunny patios or bright indoor spots. Sized to ship best, our large Hibiscus arrives with room to grow as it adapts to your home’s conditions.

- Large plant measures between 3-4 feet tall from bottom of the grow pot to the top of the foliage
- Large plants benefit from brighter light to help retain their mature foliage
- Large plants require less frequent waterings due to their higher volume of soil
- Agnes planter does not contain a drainage hole

Approximately 7" in diameter, fits plants in a 6" grow pot or smaller

Approximately 12-14" in diameter, fits plants in a 12" grow pot or smaller
Watering Requirements
Water every 1 week, allowing the top few inches of soil to dry out between waterings if planted in a container or directly in ground.
Sunlight Requirements
Thrives in full to part sun. Not suited for low light areas.
Humidity Requirements
Tropical Hibiscus prefer higher humidity if possible, preferably above 40%. Consider incorporating a humidifier to boost humidity levels more consistently if the air in the home is dry.

No, this plant is not recommended in homes with pets.
Why are my tropical Hibiscus leaves turning yellow and falling off?
Yellowing leaves and leaf drop on a tropical Hibiscus are typically caused by environmental shock or improper watering. Moving your plant indoors for winter or changing its light levels will trigger a temporary wave of yellowing as it acclimates. If your plant hasn't been moved, check the soil moisture: bone-dry soil means it is underwatered, while soggy soil indicates overwatering. Once you adjust your watering frequency new growth will quickly appear.
Why are my Hibiscus flower buds falling off before they open?
Bud drop is typically caused by thrips, extreme temperature swings, or inconsistent watering. Hibiscus plants require huge amounts of energy and moisture to open their blooms. If the soil dries out completely while buds are forming, the plant aborts them to preserve moisture. Examine the fallen buds for tiny, slender insects called thrips which feed on the petals inside the buds causing them to drop prematurely.
