Narcissus 'Thalia' is the white daffodil gardeners ask for by name. Each stem carries two to three nodding, pure-white blossoms with a sweet fragrance you can catch from a few feet away, opening in late spring when most early bulbs have finished. At about 14 inches tall and just 4 to 6 inches wide, it slips easily between emerging perennials, along walkways, or into pots on the porch.
Plant these bulbs once in fall and they return year after year in zones 3-8, multiplying into fuller clumps with almost no effort from you. Deer and rabbits generally leave daffodils alone, which makes 'Thalia' a dependable choice for open beds and woodland edges where other spring flowers get browsed.
Tuck these 25 bulbs in this fall and wake up to a drift of fragrant white next spring.
