Ficus Audrey Bush Information

Ficus Audrey Bush
About The Ficus Audrey Bush

The Ficus Audrey’s easy-going nature and elegant foliage make it one of our all-time favorite Ficus plants. If you’ve struggled with the sometimes finicky Fiddle Leaf Fig, give this plant a try instead! Its white trunk and matte green leaves are a fit for modern and traditional spaces alike. Sized to ship best, our large Audrey tree arrives with room to grow as it adapts to your home’s conditions.

  • Each plant is unique; size and shape fluctuate by season so all measurements are shown as a range
  • Small plant arrives in a 4.75" wide nursery grow pot and measures between 9-13 inches tall from the bottom of the grow pot to the top of the foliage
  • Medium plant arrives in a 6" wide nursery grow pot and measures between 13-18 inches tall from the bottom of the grow pot to the top of the foliage
  • Large plant measures between 3-3.5 feet tall from the bottom of the grow pot to the top of the foliage, and arrives in a 9.25" wide grow pot
  • Large plants benefit from brighter light to help retain their mature foliage
  • Large plants require less frequent waterings due to their higher volume of soil
  • If you purchase a large plant with a planter, the planter will ship separately

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Ficus Audrey?
The Ficus Audrey is a cultivated indoor variety of Ficus benghalensis, commonly known as the Indian Banyan tree. In its native habitat of India and Pakistan, it is an expansive canopy tree considered sacred. As an indoor plant, it grows into an elegant, upright tree form prized for its pale, smooth bark and large, matte, deep-green oval leaves accented by bold cream veining.

Why is the Ficus Audrey considered easier to grow than a Fiddle Leaf Fig?
While the Fiddle Leaf Fig (Ficus lyrata) is prone to rapid leaf dropping at the slightest change in environment, the Ficus Audrey is significantly more resilient. It is less reactive to being moved, tolerates minor fluctuations in indoor watering habits far better, and is less vulnerable to low indoor humidity.

What do the velvety leaves on a Ficus Audrey mean?
The uniquely soft, fuzzy texture on the leaves and stems of a Ficus Audrey is completely normal. Unlike most other structural figs which feature a waxy, high-gloss coating, the Audrey has microscopic hairs (pubescence) on the foliage. This gives the deep-green leaves a rich, sophisticated matte velvet look and tactile softness.

Why are my Ficus Audrey leaves dropping?
If the leaves drop while turning yellow with soft, brown patches near the center vein, the plant may be overwatered. On the other hand, if the leaves look droopy, feel crispy on the edges, the plant may be underwatered if the soil has completely dried out. Sudden exposure to hot air vents or freezing cold drafts from windows can also cause leaf loss.
