About The Calathea Rosy
The Calathea 'Rosy' (Calathea roseopicta), also known as the Rose Painted Calathea, features striking oval leaves with silvery pink centers that contrast beautifully against the deep green background. Like other prayer plants in its family, it raises and lowers these leaves from day to night, a phenomenon called nyctinasty! This plant is also non-toxic and safe to keep around curious pets and children.
NOTE: The pink pigmentation may vary from plant to plant—some may arrive with pink tones, others may need a bit more time to blush. But don’t worry! With bright light and the right TLC, the pink will come out to play in no time.

Watering Requirements
Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry out half way down between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light. This plant can benefit from extra humidity. Calatheas can be sensitive to hard tap water. Try using filtered water or leaving water out overnight before using.
Sunlight Requirements
Thrives in medium to bright indirect light, but can tolerate low indirect light.
Humidity Requirements
Calatheas prefer higher humidity if possible. Consider incorporating a fine-mist mister or humidifier to boost humidity level indoors.

How often should I water a Calathea Rosy plant?
Water your Calathea Rosy when the top half of soil has dried out, which typically averages to once a week depending on your home's environment. Allowing the plant to sit in stagnant water triggers root rot, while letting the soil completely dry out will cause the foliage to droop and brown.
Why are my Calathea Rosy leaves curling or turning brown at the tips?
Brown, crispy edges or curling leaves on a Rattlesnake plant are almost always caused by dehydration, low humidity or tap water sensitivity.
Why is my Calathea Rosy losing its pink color and turning green or faded?
Loss of color is usually caused by incorrect lighting, most often too much direct sunlight or sometimes not enough sunlight. In low-light environments, the plant produces more chlorophyll (green) to absorb what little light is available, while too much direct sunlight can bleach the leaves. Make sure to place your Calathea in a spot with bright indirect light.
Why are my Calathea Rosy leaves curling inward?
Leaf curling is a defense mechanism indicating that your Calathea Rosy is experiencing underwatering, too much sunlight, or an unfavorable draft. Check the moisture of the soil, the windows exposure, or keep a lookout for any drafts from AC vents, heaters, or drafty windows!
