About The Button Fern
Despite the Button Fern's appearance, with adorable button-like leaflets attached to delicate stems, it is a tough little fern: On the cliffs of its native New Zealand, it can withstand a variety of temperatures and humidity. This plant is pet-friendly!

Small
Approximately 5" in diameter, fits plants in a 4" grow pot or smaller
Medium
Approximately 7" in diameter, fits plants in a 6" grow pot or smaller
Large
Approximately 10-12" in diameter, fits plants in a 10" grow pot or smaller
Massive
Approximately 12-14" in diameter, fits plants in a 12" grow pot or smaller
Watering Requirements
Water every 1-2 weeks allowing soil to dry out halfway between waterings. Expect to water more oftern in brighter light and less often in lower light.
Sunlight Requirements
Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Not suited for low light conditions or direct sun.
Humidity Requirements
Normal room humidity can work, but the Button Fern can benefit from higher humidity conditions. Consider incorporating a humidifier to boost humidity levels more consistently if the air in the home is dry.

Yes, this plant is safe for homes with pets.
How often should you water a Button Fern?
Water once the top half of soil feels dry, which may be once per week depending on your home's environment. The button fern will shrivel and curl its leaves the moment they become too dry, but they will bounce back quickly once thoroughly soaked.
What are the ideal light and temperature requirements?
Button Ferns thrive best in bright indirect sunlight, mimicking their natural forest floor habitat. Direct afternoon sun will quickly scorch and bleach their foliage. Maintain a comfortable indoor temperature between 60-80°F, and shield the plant from freezing winter drafts.
