Air Plants -
Tillandsia is a genus of neotropical epiphytic plants belonging to the bromeliad family, Bromeliaceae. All Tillandsia are referred to as air plants due to their ability to grow without soil. This, coupled with their humidity-loving nature makes them great bathroom and kitchen plants. String them up, or combine them with our Tillandz planters to create a stunning display of these diversely-shaped beauties!
Air plant growth comes from the base of the rosette. To keep your air plant from dying, make sure that this is as intact as possible. Air plants will rot if they stay wet for longer than three hours, so make sure that they get plenty of sunlight to dry them out. Follow the instructions below to keep your air plant healthy!
Bright, indirect light to direct sun. Loves to be hanging in windows, especially bathroom / kitchen windows.
Spritz daily and soak for ten minutes once a week in warm, filtered water unless in a bathroom. If in a bathroom, spritz twice a week, and soak once every two weeks. Increase frequency of spritzing with increased light.
Crispy tips means more spritz!
