About The Norfolk Island Pine
The Norfolk Island Pine is an evergreen native to Norfolk Island, a small, picturesque island off the coast of Australia. With soft, feathery branches and an upright form, it brings an airy, refreshed feel to your home, perfect for spring styling.

- Medium plant is approximately 12-20 inches tall from bottom of the grow pot to the top of the foliage
- Large plant is approximately 2-3 feet tall from bottom of the grow pot to the top of the foliage
- Arrives in a nursery grow pot nestled in your planter choice; except for large planters, which ship separately from large plants

Watering Requirements
Water every 7-10 days, allowing soil to dry out halfway between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light.
Sunlight Requirements
Thrives in bright indirect to medium light. Can benefit from a few hours of direct morning sun.
Humidity Requirements
Norfolk Pines prefer higher humidity if possible, preferably above 40%. Consider incorporating a humidifier to boost humidity levels more consistently if the air in the home is dry.

Is a Norfolk Island Pine a real pine tree, and can it be planted outside?
No, despite its common name, the Norfolk Island Pine is not a true pine tree. It is a tropical conifer native to the South Pacific and cannot survive freezing temperatures. You can only plant it in the ground outdoors year-round if you live in a frost-free, subtropical environment (USDA Zones 10–11).
Why are the lower branches of my Norfolk Island Pine dying and falling off?
If the bottom-most branches of your tree turn brown, dry out, and snap off, the plant is likely suffering from low light, low humidity, or underwatering.
Can you prune a Norfolk Island Pine to keep it short?
No, you should never cut the top leader stem of a Norfolk Island Pine to control its height. This tree grows from a single, dominant central growth point at the very top of the trunk. If you chop off the top, you permanently destroy the tree's natural symmetry and growth blueprint.
