Description

Born near outside of Milan, Italy, Helena Perpenti (1764 - 1846) at first followed her physician father into a career in medicine. After developing a smallpox vaccine, she became an inventor. After raising 15 children in Como, Italy, she switched the focus of her work to botany, studying the flora of the Lake Como region. In 1817, Helena discovered a new (and rare) type of campanula flower (aka bellflower). The flower was named Campanula perpentiae in her honor, and it earned her recognition in the botanical world.

Our large Helena planter is an 11" fiberglass planter that has a drainage hole and optional rubber stopper. This classic shape will surely compliment any large floor plant. The planter is named after Helena Perpenti who was an Italian doctor who studied flora and discovered a species of Campanula flowers (bellflowers).
