Fittonia -
Fittonia albivenis

Also known as a Nerve Plant, Fittonia albivenis is known for it's colorful and vein-y/nerve-y leaves. It was used as a hallucinogenic drug by the Machiguenga people, until the more potent Psychotria viridis was introduced to Peru. Regardless, the trippy nature of this plant caught the attention of botanists Elizabeth and Sara May Fitton, who classified it in the late 19th century. We recommend that the plant be kept for visual trippiness only. Do not consume, and keep away from pets.

Plant Care

Light

Medium light. Tolerates low light. Not suited for intense, direct sun.

Water

Water weekly to semi-weekly. Allow potting mix to completely dry out before watering. The smaller the pot, the faster the soil dries out. Water more frequently during warmer months and fertilize during growth. Do not overwater or keep the soil wet for too long, as this will encourage root rot.

Extra Love

Fittonias will let you know as soon as they're not feeling the love by wilting, this is a great indicator that you need to water.

Parlor Palm -
Chamadorea elegans

Chamadorea elegans Also known as the neanthe bella palm or parlour palm, this is one of our favorite hard to kill plants. With the right care and many, many repottings, this palm can grow to well over 6 feet tall. But do not repot more than once a year, their roots like to relax. This has been a popular houseplant in the UK since Victorian times.

Bright indirect light to direct sun.

Water

Water weekly to semi-weekly. Allow potting mix to completely dry out before watering. The smaller the pot, the faster the soil dries out. Do not overwater or keep the soil wet for too long, as this will encourage root rot.

Extra Love

The tips may burn if it is not getting enough water. Keep an eye out for spider mites with this guy.
