Workshop: The Hoya

The fleshy, heart-shaped leaves of Hoya kerrii have earned it the nickname of ‘the sweetheart plant’. A species of Hoya native to southeast Asia, Hoya kerrii is a slow-growing succulent that is particularly easy to care for. It thrives when provided bright-to-moderate light and infrequent waterings.

Join us on Valentine’s Day for an exclusive Hoya Heart Workshop. Following a presentation on the Hoya kerrii by plant scientist Christopher Satch, workshop attendees will pot their very own Hoya cutting into their choice of locally made ceramic planter.

The Plant Care

Light

Bright light to medium indirect light to low light. That's dependent on the plant though!

Water

Usually once a week, but is different per plant.

Extra Love

Overwatering is the most common cause of houseplant death. Usually yellowing of the leaves, or a mushy base means that you are overwatering. Let it dry out.
