Plant Bio

The Dracaena is a popular houseplant because of its easy-going nature and tolerance of lower light levels. There are over 100 different species within the genus, most of them native to Africa, Asia, and Australia. Sometimes called a dragon tree, Dracaena comes from the Ancient Greek word drakaina meaning ‘female dragon’. Their thin, sword-like leaves can come in a variety of colors, from green to red to yellow. Although this plant tolerates low light, brighter light will help keep leaves a more vibrant color.
