This flowering houseplant will bring your grad joy for weeks to come. The Calla Lily goes through blooming cycles, a few weeks with flowers then a few weeks without, but its lush green leaves will be a nice addition to their home.
Note: Our Calla Lilies come in our Hyde earthenware planter with matching saucer. To ensure this plant ships safely, it will arrive with the grow pot placed inside our planter. Leave it in its nursery grow pot to thrive, or simply pot it into the earthenware planter.
Thrives in bright indirect to medium indirect light. Not suited for intense, direct sun.
Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry out half way down between waterings. Increase frequency with increased light.
This plant benefits from extra humidity.
Calla lilies aren't actual lilies, but instead aroids. These perennial plants are native to Africa. Their preferred habitat is near lakes and ponds, so try not to let them dry out completely when in bloom indoors. They enjoy being kept semi-moist but not soaking, and being positioned in bright indirect light. Many varieties have been cultivated for their attractive modified leaves and flowers. Like other flowering plants, the Calla Lily will go through blooming cycles – a few months with flowers, a few months without. When the current blooming cycle ends, cut the dead leaves and let the plant go dormant for about two months. Place it in bright light and water normally to revive it. This will restart the bloom cycle. If you don’t mind your Calla Lily not reblooming, continue with regular care and enjoy its leafy green foliage year round!
