The Wilder is a study in contradictions. Regal, but approachable. Organic, yet refined. Modern and unabashedly adorned. There’s simplicity in the quiet muted emerald and mud-inspired color palette, richness in the gold leaf accents. The ZZ Plant plays intrinsically to the Wilder’s theme with long, tall branches reaching ever upward, but bound to the soil by large bulbous tubers beneath the surface.
Artist Lesley Anton shows off her supremely design-minded eye in her wheel thrown works - the Wilder is no exception. This elegant and earthy planter is dipped in celadon glaze, save for the raw stoneware base in deep rust-toned brown. The ZZ’s waxy, dark green leaves shine like the Wilder’s vertical gold luster. These wide etched embellishments - one long atop, one short at bottom – are in contrast to the delicately cinched center of the pot. Simply sublime!
