It’s a good thing the Thorburn is a sturdy structure, because the Golden Pothos is a climber! In the wild this adventurous plant can hook over tree branches by means of an aerial root system. Having no natural enemies, the Pothos is an outlaw free to overgrow the forest floor and trunks of trees, causing serious ecological calamity.
With the Thorburn’s wide base and baked clay strength, the explorations of the Pothos may be bold, but not boundless. Expect trailing stem growth up to 10’ long … or as long as you allow this felonious guy to go. The alternating heart-shaped leaves in crisp evergreen and variegated yellow are a striking pop of color against the Thorburn’s down-to-earth orangey brown. A very hardy plant, the Pothos requires little care and has a reputation for filtering gaseous toxins from the air – a “make nice” for being a menace to wildlife society, perhaps?
